The “Entrepreneur 2022” Mercury Cup Award Ceremony, which for 25 years has recognized Mongolia’s outstanding businesses that define the reputation and value of the business sector, was held once again. At this event, leading enterprises, organizations, and entrepreneurs who have achieved remarkable success and made significant contributions to social and economic development were honored.
At the 25th edition of this event, “Suu” JSC was selected as the Best Business Entity of the Year and received the Silver Mercury Award.
This award reflects the hard work and dedication of “Suu” JSC’s 500 employees, 2,500 suppliers, over 3,000 retail partners, and investors, as highlighted by the company’s CEO, M. Bolod.
In 2022, “Suu” JSC operated with an employee-centered approach and was recognized by the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia (NHRCM) as an organization that upholds human rights and gender equality, awarding it the Sustainable Development Gender Equality Award.
Additionally, in 2022, “Suu” JSC invested 19.7 billion MNT to upgrade its factory and milk reception equipment. The company launched nine new products to the market, including various ice creams, milkshakes, and probiotic yogurt.
While four cooperatives were established in 2021, an additional eight cooperatives were formed in 2022, bringing the total to twelve. As part of the cooperative movement, over 800 million MNT worth of feed was distributed free of charge to supplier herders.
Furthermore, the company purchased a total of 21.2 million liters of milk from herders, generating 27.8 billion MNT in revenue for them. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a successful growth of up to 62%.
About “Suu” JSC
“Suu” JSC, the oldest factory in Mongolia, was originally established in 1958 with the aim of supplying milk and dairy products to the capital city’s population, starting with a processing capacity of 30 tons of milk per day. Today, the company employs over 500 staff, processes 130–180 tons of milk and dairy products daily, produces more than 70 types of products, and distributes them to over 4,000 sales points in the market.
We continuously collect milk year-round from over 2,500 herders and farmers engaged in more than 30 product lines around Ulaanbaatar city and in Töv, Darkhan, Selenge, Orkhon, and Khentii provinces. Since 2021, we have been implementing a herder cooperative program and have established 12 herder cooperatives so far. We plan to establish an additional 10 to 13 cooperatives in 2023.
Furthermore, in 2015, we established “Max Agro,” an intensive livestock farm, which leads the sector in its field.
